Activity 3: The Sky in Shanghai_Summer Learning Journey-Week 4-Day 1

On your blog, write a poem that describes your feelings about travelling to Beijing, China..
Hey Bloggers Today i will be completing the text above hope you enjoy!

People are getting hurt then soon after burred under the dirt
Humans are watching people fall but try to stand tall
Beijing is falling while people are calling
Someone Says "Masks on lets make it out of here before dusk till dawn"
A part of china is starting to burst well other say its just a curse

My time in china was nothing like north Carolina.

Hope you guys enjoyed!

  1. Hi Araura,
Well done on finishing this Summer Learning Journey activity. I think that your poem about the smog in China is great. It's sad that there is so much air pollution there as so many people die because of it. Keep up the excellent work.

  2. Hi Araura,

It's Leslie here, a member of the Summer Learning Journey team.

You've worked hard at creating this poem - good for you!! Smog isn't a happy topic so I admire you for learning about it and creating a poem that talks about how difficult it would be to be in a city dealing with air pollution.

Have you ever been anywhere that has an air pollution problem? I used to live in the city of Toronto and it's a very large city that often has smog issues. There are so many cars, buses and trucks on the roads that there's a lot of pollution produced by their exhaust systems. And there are also many many industries in and around Toronto that also create pollution. Sometimes the sky is just grey all day and there are smog warnings on the radio, suggesting that people stay inside if they have breathing problems. Isn't that sad??

Fortunately our government is creating new laws requiring companies to reduce the amount of pollution they produce and car companies are being encouraged to build cars and trucks that use less energy and create less exhaust. Hopefully
our efforts will reduce the amount of air pollution in the world!!!

I hope you're enjoying sunny, clear days in Auckland and that you're enjoying this Summer Learning Journey program!!

I'll continue to enjoy reading your blog.

    Cheers,

    Leslie
