Activity 3: Concluding the Journey-Summer Learning Journey-Week 4-day 5

Sadly, the Summer Learning Journey has now come to an end. It is time to reflect on everything that you have learned about the environment and, particularly, about how you can protect and preserve it.

"WOW" this was really fun I cant believe I finished the journey the activities were so interesting and amazing.

What I learnt well I was participating in the journey was a lot of things about pollution,Water,Maori culture and more!

The one thing that surprised me was how many people died from air pollution, That's really sad.

Nothing really upset me throughout the Summer Learning Journey because it was so fun and interesting. Well besides for all the animals that are about to go extinct that made me upset.

The one thing me and my family can do to help our environment is stop littering and tell others people to stop littering and care for our environment.

I would like to Thank the summer Learning Journey members for letting me be part of this adventure.

Hope you guys enjoyed me posting about the Summer Learning Journey and thanks for all the feedback.

Thank you...Bye!

  1. Hello Araura!

It's Amanda here from Edmund Hillary School, I agree with you the activities were so interesting and fun to complete. I learnt so many things and I liked how the activities asked for our opinions because it made it more challenging.

In my opinion I wish more schools educated children about how lucky we are to be living in such a wonderful country like New Zealand because there are many countries out there suffering due to poverty, pollution and many more problems!

I hope you continue blogging in the future :)

    Yours sincerely,
    Amanda

  2. Good evening Araura,

My name is Georgia and I am the Kaikohekohe (Northland) Cluster Manager. Congratulations on completing all 60 activities from the Summer Learning Journey! What an incredible achievement.

Based off this blog post, you have had a great time completing activities and learnt some very important things about the environment and how we should be taking care of it. Ensuring we don't litter is a very good step in the right direction. This year I would also like to set up a compost bin at my flat so that I don't have to throw so much food waste/scraps in the rubbish bin.

What activity was your personal favourite from the SLJ this year? I really enjoyed reading the beast activity and the rainy day activities post.

Well done again on finishing the programme! Have a lovely rest of your summer break.
    Nga mihi, Georgia.

  3. Kia Ora Araura,

Congratulations on finishing up the Summer Learning Journey programme for 2018-2019! It is a huge achievement and one that, I hope, you are very proud of! Our team is really proud of you for working so hard to keep your learning going over the summer holiday period.

We are thrilled to read that you learned so much about the water, pollution, Maori culture and the world around us. We hope that you'll have the chance to share your learning with your friends and teachers when you get back to school in February.

In the meantime, have a wonderful summer!

    All the best,
    Rachel :)

  5. Kia ora Araura,

Wow, congratulations on completing the Summer Learning Journey. I am so proud of the effort you have put in to the programme this year. You have worked hard completing every activity to a high standard. I really love that you acknowledged the SLJ team. We feel so honored and privileged to work with awesome students like you. You make our job so enjoyable so thank you for keeping us on our toes by posting so many activities. We have to catch up to you and read all of your incredible activities.

I think you have identified a great first step to helping protect our planet. Litter is a big problem in our world and it is killing a lot of animals as it floats around our planet. All we can do is start with our own efforts and hope that our friends and family start changing their ways too.

I am glad to read that you enjoyed the programme. I love seeing your comments on other participants activities. I see that Amanda has returned your love by posting on your page too. That is incredible.

I just wanted to let you know that I cannot find your activity for week 3, day 2, activity one. This activity was about bumble bees. Do you remember doing this activity? It is so easy to accidentally miss one activity. If you think you may have missed it then I will keep an eye out on another post.

Keep up the awesome work, Araura and I will see you at school in a few weeks.

    Kindest regards,
    Megan :)
